The US Navy has disclosed the AIM-424 “Malice,” a new long-range air-to-air missile being developed by Raytheon for fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-generation aircraft. The weapon is intended for platforms including the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, F-35C, and future F/A-XX fighter. Designed to extend engagement ranges and improve fleet air defense, Malice is reportedly undergoing flight testing. The missile is approximately 4 meters long, weighs about 680 kilograms, and uses a solid-propellant rocket motor with a blast-fragmentation warhead. Its projected range exceeds 250 nautical miles.
