The United States has approved a $150 million foreign military sale of Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopters to the Philippines, strengthening bilateral defense cooperation and aviation training capabilities. The package includes 22 helicopters, simulators, spare parts, logistics support, maintenance equipment, and operational infrastructure for two air bases. Training programs covering helicopter maintenance, logistics support, and engine servicing are also included to improve local technical expertise. Washington stated that the acquisition will enhance pilot readiness, modernize rotary-wing training operations, and support Manila’s long-term defense modernization objectives in Southeast Asia.
