The United States has approved a potential $70.5 million foreign military sale to Jordan, aimed at enhancing the operational readiness of its air fleet. The package includes maintenance support, equipment, and logistical services for F-16 and F-5 fighter jets, as well as C-130 transport aircraft. The contract will be executed by S&K Aerospace and was fast-tracked under an emergency determination due to rising regional tensions. The decision follows recent drone and missile attacks on US-linked sites in Jordan, highlighting the urgency of strengthening defense capabilities. This support is intended to improve Jordan’s ability to conduct border security and crisis response operations while aligning with US Central Command objectives. The move also coincides with additional US defense approvals for other Middle Eastern nations, reflecting broader regional security efforts.
