The United States has approved two military support packages worth a combined $428.2 million for India’s Apache attack helicopters and M777A2 ultra-light howitzers. The Apache package includes engineering, logistics, technical support, training, and publications for India’s AH-64E fleet, while the M777 package focuses on sustainment, repairs, spare parts, and operational support. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and BAE Systems will serve as principal contractors. Washington said the deals support US strategic objectives by strengthening defense ties with India in the Indo-Pacific region.
