The Tejas Mk1A may eventually become much more than a lightweight fighter aircraft. Its indigenous design and flexible software architecture could enable future integration with loyal wingman drones, ISR platforms, and autonomous combat systems. Such capabilities would allow Tejas to act as an airborne coordinator for unmanned assets, supporting India’s transition toward network-centric warfare and next-generation aerial combat concepts.
