NATO has selected Saab’s GlobalEye to become the alliance’s future airborne surveillance and command aircraft, marking a major upgrade to its early warning capability. Equipped with powerful radar, advanced sensors, and sophisticated battle management systems, GlobalEye can simultaneously monitor activities across the air, sea, and land while identifying modern threats such as stealth aircraft, drones, ballistic missiles, and hypersonic weapons. The aircraft will significantly improve NATO’s ability to coordinate multinational operations, strengthen situational awareness, and respond rapidly to emerging security challenges. The procurement also reinforces Saab’s growing role within NATO programs while supporting Sweden’s high-technology defense industry through long-term production, engineering, and maintenance activities.
