France has placed a $1.3-billion order for Saab’s GlobalEye airborne early warning and control aircraft, covering two platforms with an option for two more. Based on the Bombardier Global 6000/6500 jet, GlobalEye integrates the Erieye ER radar and a multi-sensor surveillance suite capable of monitoring air, land, and maritime domains. Deliveries are scheduled between 2029 and 2032. The aircraft will replace France’s aging E-3F Sentry fleet and significantly enhance long-range situational awareness, endurance, and interoperability with NATO partners.
