The US State Department has approved a potential $1.5-billion sale of 12 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters and related equipment to Austria. The proposed acquisition is intended to strengthen Austria’s defense capabilities, improve interoperability with US and coalition forces, and support regional security objectives in Europe.
