Boeing has secured two U.S. Department of Defense contracts valued at a combined $2.7 billion to produce and deliver advanced seekers for the Patriot PAC-3 missile family. The deal strengthens Boeing’s position as a critical supplier for the Patriot missile defense ecosystem and reinforces the PAC-3 system’s role in global air and missile defense networks. The PAC-3 seeker is a key guidance component enabling the missile’s hit-to-kill precision against aerial threats, including tactical ballistic missiles and advanced aircraft. Under these contracts, Boeing will expand production capacity and accelerate deliveries to meet growing domestic and allied demand, particularly among NATO and Indo-Pacific partners investing heavily in layered air defense. The work will take place at Boeing’s facility in Huntsville, Alabama, with completion targeted by 2032. The Patriot PAC-3 system, developed in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, has seen a significant surge in global orders amid rising geopolitical tensions and heightened missile threats in Europe and Asia. The upgraded seeker enhances target acquisition and engagement range, integrating next-generation electronics to ensure improved resistance to countermeasures. The award underscores Boeing’s growing footprint in missile defense manufacturing and its close coordination with Lockheed Martin on strategic deterrence programs.
