Raytheon has received a $904.6 million contract for low-rate initial production of the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS). The deal includes five radar systems, six spares, software, and support services. LTAMDS is designed to replace older Patriot radar sensors and provides 360-degree coverage with the ability to track multiple threats, including targets traveling at Mach 5. The latest award raises the broader program value to roughly $5.3 billion.
