The US Army’s NGSRI program reached another milestone after Lockheed Martin successfully tested the seeker of its QuadStar interceptor missile. The flight validated the system’s ability to process imagery, track airborne targets, and support modular upgrades through an open-architecture design. The competition aims to identify a replacement for the FIM-92 Stinger missile, with low-rate production expected to begin by 2028.
