Kongsberg has secured a $400 million agreement with Raytheon to deliver the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) to Kuwait under the US Foreign Military Sales program. The procurement will enhance Kuwait’s layered air defense network by providing a combat-proven capability against aircraft, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial systems. The system combines Kongsberg’s launchers, command-and-control components, and communications with Raytheon’s interceptor missiles and radar technologies. The acquisition supports Kuwait’s military modernization efforts while making it the 18th country to adopt the NASAMS air defense system.
