The US Air Force has awarded Kongsberg a contract worth approximately $240.9 million for the second production lot of Joint Strike Missiles (JSMs). The agreement covers missile production, containers, test equipment, and associated support items, with work continuing through November 2028. Designed specifically for integration within the F-35A’s internal weapons bay, the JSM enables long-range precision strikes while preserving the aircraft’s stealth characteristics. Derived from the Naval Strike Missile, the weapon can engage targets at ranges exceeding 350 kilometers and is already being adopted by several allied F-35 operators.
