Raytheon is strengthening Europe’s air defense industrial base by expanding production of the combat-proven Stinger missile through partnerships with major European defense companies. German and Dutch manufacturers will produce key missile components while final assembly and testing take place in the Netherlands, creating a more resilient regional supply chain. The increased production capacity is intended to meet rising demand from NATO members seeking to improve protection against helicopters, drones, and low-flying aircraft. Widely recognized for its battlefield effectiveness, the Stinger has become an essential element of modern short-range air defense. By investing in localized manufacturing, European allies can accelerate deliveries, improve operational readiness, and reinforce collective defense capabilities while preparing for the next generation of battlefield air threats.
