Bengaluru-based SSS Defence has completed another delivery of its indigenous G72 submachine guns to the Punjab Police, highlighting the growing adoption of locally developed small arms by Indian law enforcement agencies. Chambered for the 9×19mm NATO cartridge, the G72 is designed for close-quarter combat and urban operations, offering a high rate of fire combined with controlled handling through its roller-delayed blowback operating mechanism. The weapon incorporates modular features such as adjustable barrel configurations, ambidextrous controls, folding stocks, and accessory mounting rails for optics and tactical equipment. The latest delivery reinforces SSS Defence’s expanding role within India’s defense and security ecosystem, with the company already supplying products to multiple state police organizations and emerging as the lowest bidder for a major National Security Guard procurement program. The milestone reflects increasing confidence in indigenous weapon systems and supports India’s broader goal of strengthening domestic defense manufacturing capabilities.
