India’s Prithvi-II ballistic missile is undergoing maintenance and modernization as DRDO’s Research Centre Imarat issues tenders to sustain the fleet. A three-year annual maintenance contract focuses on technical support, manpower, and operational readiness. Another tender covers upgrades to the Prithvi-II(B) variant, likely involving guidance, electronics, propulsion reliability, and launcher compatibility improvements. Though India is developing newer solid-fuel missiles like Pralay, the Prithvi-II remains part of the Strategic Forces Command, making lifecycle support essential during the transition.
