Norway has announced an additional 2.8 billion kroner ($304 million) contribution to NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, including funding for Patriot air defense interceptors for Ukraine. The PURL framework is designed to accelerate the procurement and transfer of US-manufactured military systems such as air defense weapons, drones, and artillery by pooling allied financial contributions and reducing delays associated with bilateral negotiations. Norway’s total contribution to the initiative has now reached 12.5 billion kroner ($1.36 billion), underlining continued European efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s layered air defense network amid sustained Russian missile and drone attacks.
