Estonia has signed a contract with Lockheed Martin to procure three additional HIMARS rocket systems, reinforcing its long-range strike capabilities. The agreement also includes a $11 million investment in Estonia’s defense industry to establish local maintenance capabilities. This move builds on previous acquisitions, including HIMARS systems received in 2025 and K239 Chunmoo systems from South Korea. The investment will support the creation of sustainment infrastructure, ensuring long-term operational readiness. Estonia has also partnered with Hanwha Aerospace to develop defense industrial facilities, including an ammunition plant and repair center. These efforts reflect a broader strategy to strengthen national defense capabilities and reduce reliance on external support.
