The US Missile Defense Agency has awarded Lockheed Martin an additional $407 million for continued development of Guam’s missile defense shield. The project supports a layered architecture integrating sensors, launchers, radars, and command-and-control systems to protect key US military facilities on the island. Designed around systems such as Aegis, THAAD, and Patriot PAC-3, the initiative reflects Washington’s broader Indo-Pacific strategy amid concerns over China’s expanding missile capabilities.
