The U.S. Navy has awarded Systems Planning and Analysis Inc. a $67.5 million task order to support the Trident II D5 Strategic Weapons System, reinforcing the U.S.–UK sea-based nuclear deterrent. The contract covers systems engineering, risk analysis, industrial base assessments, and data management in support of Strategic Systems Programs, including Foreign Military Sales elements benefiting the UK’s continuous at-sea deterrent. The Trident II D5 remains the backbone of the U.S. and UK submarine-launched nuclear force, deployed aboard Ohio-class and Vanguard-class submarines. SPA’s work supports sustainment, integration, and performance analysis of the broader weapons system, which includes launch, navigation, command-and-control, and reentry vehicle subsystems critical to credible second-strike capability.
