Estonia is continuing to expand its long-range artillery and missile capabilities through a new procurement of additional K239 Chunmoo multiple launch rocket systems from South Korea. The latest acquisition supplements an earlier order placed with Hanwha Aerospace and forms part of Tallinn’s broader strategy to build layered precision-strike capabilities alongside US-made HIMARS systems. The Chunmoo launcher is capable of firing multiple rocket calibers and tactical ballistic missiles from a highly mobile truck-based platform. Its modular dual-pod configuration allows rapid adaptation for various mission profiles, including area suppression, precision attacks, and extended-range strikes. The expansion of Estonia’s rocket artillery fleet reflects growing regional security concerns and NATO members’ increasing investment in long-range deterrence systems.
