India is preparing to scale up production of the Pralay surface-to-surface missile as its role within the Armed Forces continues to expand. The missile has already secured orders totaling 370 units, reflecting its growing importance in conventional deterrence and battlefield strike operations. Domestic private-sector firms are already contributing through the supply of specialized structures, wiring systems, and launcher components. Future plans may involve broader industry participation to support higher production volumes, especially if India establishes dedicated missile formations under a proposed Rocket Force structure. Increased manufacturing capacity would ensure operational readiness, reduce dependency on single-source production, and reinforce the development of a robust indigenous missile ecosystem.
