The UK has signed a $465-million contract to supply India with Lightweight Multirole Missiles and launchers. The missiles, manufactured in Belfast, are suitable for air, land, and naval use, with a range of over 6 km and speeds exceeding Mach 1.5. The deal reinforces the UK-India defense partnership and coincides with ongoing cooperation in naval electric propulsion systems. The LMM can engage drones, helicopters, light armored vehicles, and small boats, using laser-guided targeting to minimize collateral damage.
