Denmark has signed a €500-million agreement with Kongsberg to acquire the NASAMS air-defense system, following earlier tests and a temporary lease. Initial components will arrive in 2026, with full operational capability expected in 2028. Denmark will become the 14th nation—and eighth in NATO—to operate NASAMS. The system uses AIM-120 AMRAAMs and can also launch AMRAAM-ER and AIM-9X missiles, offering layered defense against aircraft, drones, and missiles.
