The US Army has awarded Dynetics a $617-million production contract for Indirect Fire Protection Capability Increment 2 systems. The award includes launchers, magazines, training devices, spares, logistics support, and engineering services, with completion expected by November 2029. IFPC Increment 2 is designed to defend key fixed and semi-fixed sites against cruise missiles, drones, rockets, artillery, and mortars. A platoon consists of four launchers integrated with Sentinel radar through the Integrated Battle Command System. The system currently uses AIM-9X Sidewinder interceptors, while more advanced missiles are under development. The contract likely signals the shift from low-rate to full-rate production.
