In a significant milestone for counter-unmanned aerial system technology, Lockheed Martin has demonstrated the ability of its GRIZZLY launcher to engage and destroy a hostile drone using a Joint Air-to-Ground Missile. The trial showcased the integration of advanced radar detection, battle management software, and precision-guided missile technology within a containerized launch platform. During the exercise, Fortem Technologies’ radar identified and tracked the target while Lockheed Martin’s Sanctum software coordinated the engagement. The successful test underscores the effectiveness of adapting existing missile systems for air defense missions against emerging drone threats.
