The US State Department has approved a potential $292-million Foreign Military Sale of AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles to South Korea. The proposed package includes 70 missiles, guidance sections, containers, spare parts, logistics support, and associated program services. According to US officials, the acquisition will strengthen South Korea’s air defense network, improve deterrence against regional threats, and enhance interoperability with American forces operating in the Indo-Pacific region. RTX has been identified as the principal contractor for the sale.
