India is advancing its Ballistic Missile Defence programme with a new generation of interceptors designed to defeat hypersonic weapons and MIRV-equipped missiles. The Phase-3 programme reflects the country’s growing focus on countering next-generation strategic threats. By developing faster and more capable interceptor systems, DRDO aims to strengthen India’s layered missile shield while preparing for increasingly sophisticated missile technologies expected to shape future conflicts.
