Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has revealed additional details of the internal radar integration architecture developed for the Tejas Mk1A, offering an unprecedented look at the structural engineering supporting its Active Electronically Scanned Array radar installation. The exposed forward fuselage highlights the radar mounting framework, avionics housing, power distribution systems, cooling provisions, and structural reinforcements required to accommodate a modern fighter radar. The available internal volume indicates sufficient capacity for a larger radar aperture than previously anticipated, allowing integration of a high-density transmit/receive array alongside associated radio-frequency electronics and thermal management systems. The carefully engineered mounting arrangement is intended to preserve alignment accuracy during high-performance flight while simplifying maintenance and ensuring long-term operational reliability. The radar integration forms a key component of the Tejas Mk1A enhancement program, complementing improvements in mission computing, electronic warfare capability, digital avionics, and cockpit systems to substantially increase combat effectiveness.
